The intended audience is undergraduate and graduate level students who need to develop competencies in each stage of the research process. The platform is most suitable for pre-med or medical students who are publishing in medicine, health care, public health, and epidemiology.  

Content

The course enables students to build up a thorough understanding of the research cycle. The programme starts with basic epidemiology – providing students with a solid foundation for the more advanced modules that follow. Throughout the programme, the focus is on what’s important for students to know and enables them to build on their knowledge from there. It also develops data analysis and scientific paper writing skills and helps researchers to get papers published in international journals.

A flexible programme

The course comprises of four (4 week) modules covering everything from developing good research questions and the best study designs, through to reporting studies and understanding what editors and peer reviewers are really looking for.

Type of Paper – Data paper or Review article

Enrolled students will work in assigned groups of 5-6 students to publish a paper with co-authorship. The publication will be a data paper if data is available through any source. If data is not available, the students will be guided to publish a systematic review on a suitable topic.
